How to Use Para 3: My Practical Guide to Parasite Cleanse Herbs for the Whole Family

I'm a little bit biased when it comes to Para 3. It's one of those products I come back to again and again during my 10-Day Parasite Program, and it's one I keep in my own cupboard too.

But there is one thing almost EVERYONE says the first time they try it:

"Shelley. The TASTE."

I know. There's no pretending it's delicious.

And that's actually one of the reasons I've experimented with different ways of using Para 3 over the years. I'm always problem-solving with clients, particularly when someone struggles with the taste or when we're trying to make a protocol fit into REAL life.

Because the perfect protocol that sits untouched in your cupboard isn't particularly useful.

So if you're doing my Parasite Program, bookmark this page. I'm going to explain what Para 3 is, why it's one of the parasite cleanse herbs I reach for most, the many ways I use it, and, just as importantly, where I don't want you getting too creative.

WATCH: ALL THE WAYS I USE PARA 3

What actually is Para 3?

Para 3 is a liquid herbal tincture made by CellCore Biosciences.

It contains a blend of seven herbs, including clove, black walnut hull and holy basil. CellCore describes Para 3 as supporting the body's natural detoxification processes and gut microbiome. They also say the liquid format allows for rapid absorption and makes the amount easier to adjust to your comfort level.

And there's something really important I want you to know before we go any further:

Para 3 is potent.

CellCore recommends cycling Para 3 for three weeks on, followed by one week off. That should immediately tell you something about my philosophy with herbs.

  • More isn't automatically better.

  • Herbal doesn't mean insignificant.

Parasite cleanse herbs are biologically active ingredients, which is exactly why I'm interested in them, and exactly why I want you using them intentionally.

First, Para 3 isn't a parasite diagnosis

Before we get into all the different ways I use it, I want to make this VERY clear.

Bloating doesn't automatically mean parasites. Loose stools don't automatically mean parasites. Fatigue, skin issues, cravings, an itchy bottom, brain fog or digestive changes don't prove you have parasites either. These symptoms can have MANY different causes.

Symptoms are clues, not diagnoses. We are looking for patterns.

10 ways I use Para 3 (and where I draw the line)

1. Taking Para 3 orally

Let's start with the obvious one.

Para 3 is a liquid tincture and can be taken according to the product directions or the individual guidance you've been given by your practitioner. Because it's liquid, you're not locked into a capsule, and yes, you can take it with water as per your directions.

Would I hide it in my beautiful smoothie? Absolutely not. You'll ruin the smoothie and then you'll blame me. (Sometimes I'd rather just get it done and move on with my day.)

And remember the manufacturer's cycling recommendation: three weeks ON, one week OFF.

2. On the soles of your feet

This is probably the alternative method I get asked about most.

I've used topical Para 3 over the years, particularly when someone really doesn't enjoy taking herbal tinctures orally. But there's an important distinction here.

Topical use on the feet isn't included in CellCore's current public Para 3 directions. This comes from my clinical experience. After a decade of working with clients and training other practitioners, I've problem-solved a LOT of ways to take herbs and supplements, and this is one of the best practices that has come out of that.

I don't want you assuming that one dropper on your feet is the same as one dropper taken orally. Skin is designed to act as a barrier. How much of any compound gets through depends on the ingredient, the formulation, the concentration, the condition of your skin and more. So topical and oral use aren't automatically interchangeable.

If you're using Para 3 topically as part of your individual plan, follow the guidance you've been given, and stop if you develop irritation.

3. My Day 8 hair and scalp treatment

This is one people doing my 10-Day Parasite Program will recognise. On Day 8, I use a hair and scalp treatment made with:

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

  • 1 dropper Para 3

  • 5 drops tea tree oil

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Because we're working with tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar and a potent herbal tincture, I still want you treating your skin with respect. Avoid broken or inflamed skin, keep the mixture well away from your eyes, and stop if you experience significant burning, redness or irritation.

Most importantly, don't read an itchy scalp or a reaction to a treatment as proof that parasites are present or "dying off." There are many reasons for an itchy or irritated scalp.

Before you try any topical method: patch test first

If you know you have sensitive or reactive skin, please always do a patch test first. Apply a small amount of Para 3 to your skin, wait 12–24 hours and check that you don't react. Then you can try any of the skin-based methods below.

4. In a bath

Another way I've used Para 3 is adding 1–2 droppers to bath water and turning it into a detox bath. If you're trying any new topical preparation, start cautiously and stop if you notice irritation.

5. In a foot soak

The same idea applies to foot soaks. I LOVE a good foot soak because it's such an easy ritual to add in without turning your evening into another health project. You can add Para 3 to your Epsom salt foot soak and/or your AMD ion foot cleanse.

6. My oral health rinse

My mixture is:

  • 1 teaspoon Himalayan salt

  • 1 dropper Para 3

  • ½ cup warm water

Use it as a rinse and spit it out rather than swallowing it. This isn't a replacement for dental care. Persistent mouth pain, swelling, bleeding, ulcers, white patches or other unexplained changes deserve proper dental or medical assessment rather than simply adding more herbs.

7. On the chest, back, neck or belly

In clinic, when clients have chest symptoms, I've had them apply Para 3 with a carrier oil to their chest. You can also add it to your castor oil pack in the evenings, especially if liver flukes are part of your conversation. Read my blog on liver flukes here.

I also encourage using it on your neck while doing lymphatic work if you notice throat symptoms or swollen glands.

If you have belly symptoms like bloating or cramping, you can mix castor oil with Para 3 and rub it directly onto your belly. Obviously, if you're in significant pain, this won't be enough support. Work with a health professional to find out where the pain is coming from.

Herbs can be one part of your wider self-care, but a persistent cough, breathing difficulty, chest pain, fever or significant illness needs proper medical assessment.

8. What about the ears?

This one deserves its own section because I know people experiment with putting all sorts of things into their ears. I wouldn't put Para 3 down the ear canal or insert a Para 3-soaked cotton bud into the ear. I do have clients with a history of ear infections who gently apply Para 3 around the outside of their ears.

9. Nasal rinse

If things are sitting in your sinuses, adding Para 3 to a nasal rinse can be really supportive. Start with a small amount and see how you go. If you don't like nasal rinses, you can put a little on a cotton bud and inhale it instead

10. Diffusers, nebulisers and coffee enemas

These are some extra ways you can health-stack Para 3, but please check with your individual practitioner first. And remember, more things happening at once doesn't automatically mean more results.

Para 3 and little humans

This is an important conversation. I really love using Para 3 on the soles of little humans' feet because it's easy and compliance is high.

CellCore recommends consulting a healthcare practitioner before using Para 3 for anyone under 18, and during pregnancy or breastfeeding. So with children, I want to be MORE thoughtful, not less. I consider their age, health, any medications and supplements, the exact product, why we're considering it, and what the right approach looks like for that individual child.

Why so many ways to use one product?

Because I want health to work in your real life. I understand that pills, or taking Para 3 orally, aren't going to work for everyone. That's the benefit of over a decade of clinical practice: I've had to problem-solve a LOT of situations.

So instead of asking "how much more can I take?", ask: "How many different ways can I use Para 3 today to get the results I'm after?"

Wondering whether parasites should even be on your radar?

Maybe you've landed here because you've been wondering whether some of the patterns you're experiencing could be connected to parasites. I've created a free Parasite Symptom Quick Check to help you look at those patterns. It takes around 1–2 minutes.

But here's what I want you to understand before you take it: the quiz is a smoke alarm, not a fire investigator. It can help you notice patterns. It can't diagnose a parasitic infection. A high score doesn't mean "you definitely have parasites." It means there may be questions worth exploring further.

Why parasite cleanse herbs are only PART of my Parasite Program

This is probably the biggest thing I want you to take away from this article. Para 3 isn't the Parasite Program. It's one tool inside a much bigger conversation.

I don't want you leaving my program knowing how to buy another supplement. I want you understanding your body better and asking better questions. I want you knowing that symptoms aren't diagnoses, and that natural doesn't automatically mean harmless.

And I want you to stop thinking that if one health intervention is good, doing five at once must be five times better. That's exactly how we end up with bathroom cupboards full of supplements and absolutely NO idea what is helping.

A final word from Shelley

Shelley Gawith, functional nutritionist and parasite cleanse educator, smiling in a black top

I LOVE Para 3, but hopefully, after reading this, you understand what I actually mean when I say that.

I don't love it because I think everyone should take as much of it as possible. I love having tools with a purpose.

Think of your health like a toolbox. Owning ten hammers doesn't make you a better builder. Knowing which tool to reach for, why you're reaching for it and how to use it well does. That's exactly how I want you approaching Para 3.
